Property firm looking to improve polices and resources with new partnership

Fertility Matters at Work (FMAW) revealed that CBRE UK is the first property firm to join its membership with the aim of becoming a fertility-friendly employer within the commercial property sector.

Bristol staff at CBRE has partnered with FMAW to develop policies and resources that provide optimal support for colleagues dealing with fertility challenges.

The collaboration aims to raise awareness within the firm and foster a culture where employees feel supported, secure, and valued.

Tom Morris, managing director of, the Midlands and South Region at CBRE, said: “Our family-friendly benefits have played an important role in attracting new team members in our region and our partnership with FMAW will help us to build even further on this. We are reviewing our supportive policies and working with FMAW to run a range of awareness-raising events to build momentum in the first year of our partnership. From there, we will work closely with FMAW to determine our next steps.”

The revised family-friendly policy introduces improved benefits, such as extending partner leave to 16 weeks at 100% base salary, applicable to any parent or co-parent engaged in childcare responsibilities.

Furthermore, a Child Care Support Scheme offers cash allowances for parents below the associate director level with children aged one to two.

CBRE now implements a NeoNatal policy for early births, a Fertility policy providing paid time off for appointments and up to four weeks for treatment recovery, and enhanced bereavement policies covering pregnancy and close family loss.

The employees can also have six months of paid leave after completing six months of employment, with no obligation to repay if they choose not to return or leave within six months of resuming work.
