{"id":17884,"date":"2024-12-04T06:58:26","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T06:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/south-west\/?p=17884"},"modified":"2024-12-04T08:00:40","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T08:00:40","slug":"contractor-given-go-ahead-for-starbucks-coffee-shop-drive-thru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/south-west\/news\/17884-contractor-given-go-ahead-for-starbucks-coffee-shop-drive-thru","title":{"rendered":"Contractor given go-ahead for Starbucks Coffee Shop Drive Thru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developer Robert Hitchins has been given the green light to develop a new Coffee Shop Drive Thru for Starbucks franchisee The Magic Bean Company at Kingsway in Gloucester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 1,744 sq ft drive-thru and coffee shop will replace a vacant former dance studio building at the entrance to the Kingsway housing estate and business park, following a decision by Gloucester City Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Magic Bean Company will enter into a 15-year lease on completion of the development by Robert Hitchins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Plimmer, senior development manager for Robert Hitchins, said: &#8220;We are glad that Gloucester City Council has seen the merits of our development proposals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe current vacant building is in a poor state and no longer fit for purpose, so we are really pleased that we can now progress a scheme to replace it with a modern building that is less imposing, more in keeping with the contemporary buildings surrounding it and more suited to this location at the entrance to the wider development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are bringing another international retailer to Kingsway to join established big names which we are sure will bring economic benefits and welcome additional facilities to the people who live and work in Kingsway and Quedgeley.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A spokesperson for Starbucks franchisee The Magic Bean Company said: \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased to be a part of this exciting redevelopment and bring Starbucks to the busy area of Quedgeley. We\u2019re looking forward to serving the community and creating careers for local people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The arrival of Starbucks provides an important gateway to the Kingsway Business Park which forms part of a major mixed-use scheme on the site of the former 340-acre RAF Quedgeley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other national brands brought to Kingsway by Robert Hitchins include ASDA, Lidl, B&amp;M, PureGym, MKM and Greene King.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The original masterplan for the former airbase included 3,300 homes, a 40-acre employment site, community and leisure facilities, retail, sports area and primary school.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The shop will replace a vacant former dance studio building in Gloucester<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":18,"featured_media":17870,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"coauthors":[81],"class_list":["post-17884","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-property"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
