Hercules has entered the power and energy sector with the acquisition of a specialist labour supply company Advantage NRG for up to \u00a315.7m.<\/p>\n

The deal marks the third acquisition for the Gloucestershire-based labour supplier, which has been riding a wave of infrastructure investment across the UK.<\/p>\n

Advantage NRG employs 155 people from its headquarters in Chorley, Lancashire, and generated \u00a311m revenue in the year to February. It provides linesmen for the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical transmission lines, supporting major utility contractors across the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The acquisition comes as National Grid proposes \u00a358bn of investment to support a projected 64% increase in electricity demand by 2035, including constructing a north-south electricity spine and offshore grids.<\/p>\n

Brusk Korkmaz, chief executive of Hercules, said: “As the UK accelerates investment in critical power and energy infrastructure to ensure energy security, enhance transmission and distribution networks, and meet its net-zero targets, the demand for highly skilled labour has never been greater.<\/p>\n

“We believe this strategic investment will enable Hercules, the Hercules Academy and Advantage NRG to grow together and play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the UK’s essential energy infrastructure.”<\/p>\n

Hercules will pay \u00a310.2m upfront for the business, with a deferred payment of around \u00a31.5m and an earn-out that could bring the total consideration to \u00a315.7m. The financing combines Hercules’ existing cash reserves with a \u00a36m loan from Wasdell Holdings, a company controlled by non-executive director Martin Tedham.<\/p>\n

The latest deal follows recent strong performance at Hercules, which posted record revenues as it benefited from major infrastructure projects including Sizewell C and HS2. \u00a0<\/a>In June, Hercules acquired the business and assets of training company QTT (Quality Transport Training).<\/a><\/p>\n

Advantage NRG’s training capability and compliance framework will help Hercules develop domestic talent and sponsor international operatives in the high-growth market.<\/p>\n

The business will also strengthen the Hercules Academy, which trains construction workers and recently expanded with the QTT acquisition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
