Social housing services provider Mears\u00a0today said it had traded strongly in the second half of its financial year to date and so anticipates its annual pre-tax profits will come in \u201cat the top end of market guidance\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a one-sentence trading update to the London Stock Exchange, the Gloucester-headquartered group, said this outlook was for its adjusted profit before tax for the financial year ended 31 December 2025.<\/p>\n

The group, which employs around 5,400 people mainly in property management and maintenance service roles,\u00a0said it will release a more detailed trading update in January.<\/p>\n

In August Mears said that solid growth in its maintenance activities and a stronger operating margin had given it an \u2018excellent\u2019 first half, with profit before tax up by 5% to \u00a332m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
