South West education software specialist Tribal said today it was well positioned to benefit from AI adoption across the sector while also strengthening protection against the growing threat of cyber attacks.<\/p>\n
In comments accompanying its financial results for the year to 31 December, the Bristol-headquartered business, which supplies the international education market, said more than 90% of UK higher education institutions had experienced a cyber-attack in the past year,<\/p>\n
Along with sustained financial pressure and growing costs, these colleges and universities were increasingly seeking cloud-based solutions from \u201ctrusted, single-vendor partners to modernise their core systems more efficiently and securely\u201d, Tribal said.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s annual statutory\u00a0profit before tax shot up by 136% to \u00a312.5m as higher EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisations) performance was complemented by the \u00a34.8m reduction in exceptional costs.<\/p>\n
This was achieved on a 4% increase in group revenue to \u00a392.5m.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, Tribal said it was committed to driving recurring revenue growth and cloud adoption, in line with its overarching strategic objective to\u00a0transform into a fully cloud enabled software business.<\/p>\n
It had entered its new financial year with a strengthened balance sheet, growing ARR and a strong base of long-term customer relationships, it added.<\/p>\n
Mark Pickett, chief executive, said:\u00a0“FY25 has been a strategically important year for Tribal. We delivered strong trading, exceeded market expectations on adjusted EBITDA, and returned the group to a sustainable net cash position.<\/p>\n
