RAW Charging has opened a new electric vehicle charging hub at Clarks Village in Somerset, as part of a \u00a324.5m partnership with its owner, property firm LandSec,<\/p>\n

The hub has eight charging bays \u2014 four 22kW AC fast chargers and four 50kW DC rapid chargers \u2014 replacing previous 7kW chargers at the outlet.<\/p>\n

Clarks Villaget in Street was UK\u2019s first outlet shopping centre when in opened in 1993 and today is home to more than 90 brands, including M&S, Levi’s and Mint Velvet.<\/p>\n

Jason Simpson, chief executive of London-headquartered RAW Charging, said: “Clarks Village is a well-established retail destination in the South West, and we’re pleased to bring reliable EV charging to the drivers who visit it.<\/p>\n

“This latest hub is another step forward in our partnership with LandSec, showing how we’re bringing convenient charging to destinations of every size across the country.”<\/p>\n

The new hub is located in Car Park Two at Clarks Village, in the north-west corner near the outlet entrance.<\/p>\n

The 20-year partnership between RAW and LandSec will install 1,000 charging bays across 28 retail and leisure destinations, including Bluewater in Kent, Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, Leeds’ White Rose Shopping Centre and Brighton Marina.<\/p>\n

Mike Jones, centre director of Clarks Village, added: “The new EV charging stations are a welcome addition to Clarks Village, offering reliable and convenient charging to our guests while they shop, dine and enjoy everything the outlet has to offer.”<\/p>\n

The network is accessible via contactless payment and all major EV charging apps.<\/p>\n

RAW Charging says it powers sites for the National Trust, Merlin Entertainments and several hotel groups.<\/p>\n
