International retailer Lagard\u00e8re Travel Retail is bringing its flagship RELAY brand to Bristol Airport next summer as part of the airport’s \u00a3400m transformation.<\/p>\n
The world’s largest network of newsstands and travel essentials stores, which operates in more than 300 airports globally, will team up with Waitrose in a co-branded store in the heart of the departure lounge.<\/p>\n
The store will offer confectionery, drinks, newspapers, magazines, toys and souvenirs alongside Waitrose Food To Go, which will feature freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, wraps and snacks.<\/p>\n
Kate Gwyther, head of retail at Bristol Airport, said: “With RELAY, internationally recognised and Waitrose a much-loved British brand, this partnership will help form an elevated retail experience at the Airport.<\/p>\n
“We want our customers to feel as though their holiday has begun once they arrive and to enjoy the experience whether they are looking to treat themselves or their family, pick up an essential they’ve forgotten to pack or simply have some time to unwind and enjoy some retail therapy.”<\/p>\n
A Tech2Go store will follow in early 2028, selling technology travel essentials and hardware from Apple, Bose and Sony, and will include an instore demo zone.<\/p>\n
A dedicated bookshop and a kiosk selling last-minute essentials will both open in summer 2028.<\/p>\n
There will also be a co-branded RELAY and Waitrose store located before security for both arriving and departing customers.<\/p>\n

“With RELAY at the heart of the concept, the partnership with Waitrose will further strengthen the offer, bringing together complementary expertise to create an experience that appeals to Bristol’s passengers and supports the Airport’s ambition to enhance the experience across the terminal.”<\/p>\n
Charlotte Di Cello, Waitrose chief commercial officer, said the expansion followed the success of the launch at Heathrow.<\/p>\n
The announcement follows news that four new restaurants will arrive in the departure lounge next summer, including Bills, Bristol-born Cosy Club and wagamama.<\/p>\n
The airport says the transformation will almost double the number of shops and restaurants in a more spacious departure lounge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
