Kate Johnson

Kate is a partner in Square One Law’s property team and recently joined Square One Law’s Leeds office. She is a highly experienced property lawyer having previously worked at international and national firms.

Kate specialises in all aspects of commercial development work, including development agreements, complex joint venture arrangements and forward funding agreements. Kate works for a range of developers who operate in a variety of sectors, including student accommodation, build-to-rent, retail, industrial and hotel and leisure. Kate is also experienced in dealing with land promotion agreements, acting for both landowners and developers, and complex option and overage arrangements.

Key developer clients include joint ventures with Canal & River Trust and Network Rail. Recent notable schemes include a forward funded student accommodation scheme in Lincoln which was fully let to the University of Lincoln with a developed value of £25 million, and a forward funded 348-unit build-to-rent scheme in Nottingham with a developed value of £55.6 million.
