Matthew Thompson
Matthew is an experienced property lawyer and recently joined Square One Law from Freeths LLP (head of real estate, Leeds) to head up our Leeds office.
He specialises in all aspects of commercial development work, including development agreements, complex joint venture agreements, forward funding agreements, conditional sale agreements and overage agreements. Matthew has developed a reputation working for regional developers, in particular in the industrial sector, and works with a number of independent pharmacies with large property portfolios.
His experience includes dealing with the sale, letting and refinance of a development site in Sherburn in Elmet with planning for 1.25 million sq ft of warehouse space, exchanging a joint venture agreement with a national developer for the promotion, development and sale of a 263 acre site in South Yorkshire and dealing with the sale of a 100 acre distribution and industrial site in the North of England.
Matthew is ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers.
