Appointments: Paragon Banking Group: CBSO; mfg Solicitors; Liquid

Peter Hartill has been appointed as the Senior Independent Director to the board of Paragon Banking Group plc. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director since 2012, and he is also Chairman of the bank’s audit committee and a member of the Risk & Compliance, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
Patrick Newberry has been appointed to the Remuneration Committee, having been an Independent Non-Executive Director since 2017, and he is a also a member of the Risk & Compliance, Audit and Nomination Committees.

Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, the music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), has agreed to extend her contract until 2021, which will see her lead a series of special projects to mark the Symphony’s centenary celebrations in 2020.
Through her dynamic conducting style the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra has received global attention, and the Guardian newspaper recently described the Orchestra as being on “a new high” under her direction.
Stephen Maddock OBE, chief executive of the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra said: ” The CBSO’s partnership with Mirga has gone from strength to strength and we are very excited about our future artistic plans and collaborations in the run up to our centenary celebrations.”

mfg solicitors, which has offices across Worcestershire and Shropshire, has appointed Sophie Dwerryhouse to work in its agricultural team.
Ms Dwerryhouse will work with Susan Morrisey, an mfg partner, on the firm’s rural portfolio which includes farmers, land owners and food and drink manufacturers.
Ian Morrison, head of mfg’s agricultural and rural affairs team said: ” Working alongside Susan, Sophie will will play a key role in helping to grow and develop our offering to farmers, landowners and rural businesses across the region.”

Strong recent growth at Liquid, the Birmingham based communications agency, sees the appointment of two new members of the team who previously worked for the BBC, and with clients like Comic Relief.
Huma Whitehouse joins Liquid after a stint in education at Newman University, following her time at the BBC, while Hollie Jones had previous experience with third sector and consumer clients including Comic Relief and the National Trust.
Liquid has offices in London, Jersey and Guernsey and its chief executive officer, Lis Lewis-Jones said: ” We have continued to experience significant growth in the past year and these appointments are testament to that.”
