Birmingham Business School’s MBA improves FT rankings

The top business schools in the West Midlands have been evaluated in the FT’s annual ranking of Global MBA course.
Birmingham Business School is celebrating after its ranking improved by eight places in the 2010 survey compared to last year. Its Global MBA – the qualification for international executvies – is ranked 75th in the world, 21st in Europe and 13th in the UK.
Birmingham’s MBA Director Malcolm Kirkup said: “This is really good news and reflects the excellent performance of our MBA alumni improvements in the programme and the hard work of Paul Forrester as MBA Director over the past few years.”
Warwick Business School’s Global MBA remains the top ranking in the region, at 42, with Aston Business School just two places ahead of Birmingham at 73.
The figures also reveal that Warwick MBA alumni earn on average $20,000 more than their Birmingham counterparts, although Birmingham students can expect their earnings to almost double after they complete the course. 98% of Birmingham students were employed within three months of leaving the course, compared to 90% from Warwick.
