Stoke-on-Trent-based online delivery giant Foodhub has revealed major growth during 2021, with staff numbers approaching 1,000 and sales up by a quarter.

The firm, which recently moved into a new headquarters in Fenton, experienced impressive growth in every major category in 2021, including number of restaurant partners, employees, territories operated in and food orders.

The firm’s number of worldwide partners rocketed by 53.6%, from 18,351 to 28,011, while its number of employees also increased by 27.7%, from 772 to 986.

The end-of-year figures also reveal that orders surged from 27.5m in 2020, to 34.4m in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 25.2%.

Foodhub CEO Ardian Mula, who is speaking at this year’s Invest Midlands event, said: “I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved at Foodhub this year, from growing in every major business category, to bringing on board a number of exciting new talents from the local area.

“To do all this in the face of an ongoing pandemic, with additional stresses on each and every one of us, is something that I’m particularly proud of.

“This year, we’re looking to go even bigger and do even better. If you’re a local person who thinks they can help take Foodhub to the next level, then get in touch. We would love to hear from you – and look forward work together in the future.”

Mula, a leading figure within the Stoke-on-Trent business community, has credited much of last year’s success to the acquisition of local talent in key positions across the company.

One local, Basharit Hussain, was brought in at the top-end of the firm as a business development manager, responsible for driving growth by using trade contacts to attract new clients and discover previously unforeseen opportunities for growth.

He said: “I regularly meet with clients face-to-face to develop relationships, along with leading a field-based team across the UK which understands the needs of our customers and is able to respond effectively with any operational issues.

“I am also responsible for identifying business revenue opportunities for our current client base and identifying new growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services.”

Foodhub also progressed its considerable online presence last year by hiring an enthusiastic and promising young local Chloe Woodward to help boost Foodhub’s social engagement and improve customer interactions and experiences.

She said: “There is always something new and fun to be working on at Foodhub, it’s a very fast-paced environment and the company continues to grow and improve every single day.

“There is always something to celebrate or shout about in the office and that’s down to the team’s hard work and dedication to building our brand. We have a saying at Foodhub which is ‘One team, One will, One Family’, and I can honestly say that it is exactly how it is.”

One of Foodhub’s longest serving and most dedicated employees is Bob McCutcheon, who works with a team of developers helping to take the brand’s customer relationship management to the next level.

McCutcheon, a Subject Matter Expert, said: “I consider myself a founding member of Foodhub as I have been at the company from the beginning and have witnessed its evolution. All in all I have worked for Foodhub for 10 plus years.”

Other regional talent includes Tom Cooper, who in his role as a business intelligence Analyst, spends time monitoring Foodhub data to help spot areas for improvement across the company.

Foodhub is currently hiring across several departments both in Stoke-on-Trent and in other territories.
