Recycled rubber paves the way to growth

A MULTI-million pound deal has brought together the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of recycled rubber garden products.

The new company, Re-Bound, has been formed by some of the country’s leading experts in recycled rubber garden products.

Bob Jones, who has been creating recycled garden products for the past decade overseeing major distribution deals with Focus DIY and B&Q along the way, has joined with recycling expert Peter O’Kane to launch the new Re-Bound brand.

The product range is being manufactured at sites in Telford and Gloucester and a state-of-the-art processing centre in Ballymena, County Antrim.

Mr Jones said the concept of using rubber chippings for play areas and gardens was not new although in the past it had been seen as a high-end product, more expensive than other forms of landscaping surface.

“Re-Bound is going a step further and with our state-of-the-art production facility we can manufacture this quality product at a much lower cost than is traditionally expected in the marketplace.

“We have already made great strides within the market and are expecting to be able to announce some exciting collaborations with major UK and global companies over the coming months,” he said

Re-Bound brand products will be created from 100% recycled and sustainable tyres and transformed into colourful bark-style chippings for use in landscaping and play areas.

He and his fellow director are marketing the products to garden centre retailers, high street chains and bulk orders for private and public sector contracts.
