HME scores top marks with Birmingham school contracts

A BROMSGROVE firm has won nearly £400,000 worth of orders from nine Birmingham schools.

HME Technology, based at Saxon Park in the town, is a supplier and installer of design and technology and science equipment.

The nine schools are Park View Business & Enterprise School; specialist arts complex Birmingham Ormiston Academy; Broadway School, with its campus in Perry Barr; Stockland Green Technology College; the International School and Community College; Holte, Mayfield & Lozells School; Shenley Academy; Heartlands Academy; and George Dixon International School and Sixth Form Centre.

HME Technology is a sub-contractor to Lend Lease Project Management & Construction on each project.

HME managing director Julian Davis said: “This is very significant for an SME like ourselves and we are confident of picking up further such contracts.

“Design and technology and science are vital to the UK’s future international prospects.

“Hopefully this equipment can play a part in inspiring the next generation of young people to take forward Birmingham’s impressive manufacturing heritage and reputation.”
