Carillion secures support service contracts worth £95m

BLACK COUNTRY support services group Carillion has won a series of UK contracts worth £95m.
One five-year contract is to provide facilities (FM) services for Centrica. The contract is worth some £50m over the life of the agreement and will extend its relationship with Centrica to 2017.
Carillion has provided Centrica with FM services since 2005 and under this new contract, the group will provide a wide range of FM and energy efficiency services for 92 properties with a total area of some 8.6 million sq ft.
After achieving a place on the Gatwick Airport Ltd Major Framework, Carillion has been selected for one of the first major contracts to be let under the agreement, namely the Pier 5 Reconfiguration project. This £45m contract involves delivering an improved pier service to meet future growth in passenger numbers at Gatwick’s North terminal. Work is due for completion in April 2014.
Richard Howson, chief executive, said: “Winning these contracts reflects our focus on delivering excellent customer service and value for money. This is the foundation for our continuing success in winning contracts across our chosen market sectors and we look forward to working in partnership with Centrica and Gatwick Airport to deliver these contracts.”
