2 Sisters aiming for £3bn turnover

SMETHWICK food group 2 Sisters has said it is on course to hit £3bn turnover by 2015.
The group, which has acquired a number of other food business in recent times – including Northern Foods and Harry Ramsden’s – saw like-for-like sales up 8% to £562m compared to 2011 in the 13 weeks to April 28.
Including the impact of acquisitions, its growth rate almost doubled.
The group, run by founder Ranjit Boparan has operations across the food sector and is big in poultry and chilled foods.
Boparan said: “We have continued our momentum in the third quarter, with strong sales in chilled and poultry helping us to deliver good like-for-like sales growth, slightly lower than the first half as we lapped last year’s inflation-led price increases.”
