BPA ball raises more than £8,000 for Dave Hodgson

MORE than 200 marketing and communications professionals from around Birmingham and the wider region came together for a special event to remember Dave Hodgson – the former marketing director of Marketing Birmingham.
Last night’s event, ‘Go East for Dave’ – held in conjunction with Birmingham Publicity Association’s Summer Ball, raised more than £8,000.
After leaving Birmingham Dave lived and worked in the Middle East in Dubai. He tragically died last December after a difficult battle with metastatic melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. He was just 41.
Money raised from the ball, held at Villa Park and part sponsored by TheBusinessDesk.com, will be split between the BPA’s adopted charities and the Skin Cancer Research Fund (SCaRF), the only UK charity looking into metastatic melanomas.
All the money raised will go toward a larger donation to be made to Dave’s wife Natalie, at the BPA Christmas Lunch in December.
Natalie said: “It’s just been a great night and one that Dave would have loved and really enjoyed. I’m overwhelmed by the generosity and energy shown in celebration of my husband.”
