JLR amongst the sponsors of BABC conference

MAJOR sponsors have been secured for the 2013 transatlantic business conference in Birmingham, which is being organised by the Midlands chapter of the British American Business Council (BABC).

The organisation, part of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group, has attracted the support of JaguarLandRover, United Airlines and Birmingham Airport.

The conference will welcome guests from across the BABC network, including members and colleagues from the 18 chapters in the US and Canada.

Cassie Muir, the BABC’s executive director said: “We are delighted to have secured such major sponsors for this important event. It is fitting that both United and the airport have joined JaguarLandRover to support us.

“JLR is a global brand whose products are valued highly in the US while many of our visitors from the States will be arriving at Birmingham after travelling with United, which provides a daily service between Birmingham and Newark.

“It is also fitting that the business conference should be held in Birmingham,  during Birmingham Chamber of Commerce’s 200th anniversary year.”

The theme of the event will be “Strategies for Success in Tomorrow’s Economy – Design, Advanced Manufacturing and Professional Services”. Sector topics will include the future of transport, tomorrow’s economy, and the future of funding for SMEs.

The opening session on Wednesday May 15 will be held at the International Convention Centre (pictured) under the auspices of the British American Group of Lawyers and will include three legal seminars and networking.
