Chiltern Railways named most punctual franchise in England

CHILTERN Railways has been named as the most punctual English rail franchise for the fourth consecutive period, according to latest figures released by Network Rail.

The official rail industry figures, which are based on the percentage of services that arrive within a minute of their scheduled time, show that 86% of Chiltern Railways trains were on time against a national average of 68.5%, placing the train operator ahead of companies such as Virgin and London Midland.

Andrew Munden, Operations and Safety Director at Chiltern Railways said: “We’re delighted to maintain our position at the top of the league table. These statistics reinforce our commitment to giving passenger a punctual and reliable service, placing us streaks ahead of our competitors.

“However, it’s important not to be complacent and we are constantly looking at ways to further improve and give passengers the best service possible.”
