WLEP launches new access to finance portal

WORCESTERSHIRE Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP) has launched a new access to finance portal. The site is intended to be a one-stop shop for local businesses to find financial advice and information.

The portal was launched to an audience of  nearly 150 Worcestershire business people at a special access to finance-themed event jointly staged by the LEP, Finditinworcestershire.com and Worcestershire Business Central.

As well as access to a network of specialist financial advisers, the portal provides advice on a range of financial issues.  Visitors can find out about the types of finance available to their businesses and request specific help via the online contact form.

Gary Woodman, executive director at WLEP, said: “We’ve worked with the county’s top financial experts to develop the portal. We’ve harnessed a huge range of expertise and advice into this one place to make it easy for Worcestershire businesses to get the help that they need.

“We know that access to finance – and its lack of availability – is one of the top barriers to business. Indeed, we identified this issue as one of the LEP’s key strategic priorities in our business plan last year. 

“By creating the portal, we hope to have provided a really practical and useful tool for Worcestershire entrepreneurs and businesses.”
