Bromsgrove legal firm acquired by mfg Solicitors

MIDLANDS law firm mfg Solicitors has completed a deal to acquire Bromsgrove legal practice Scotts Holt & Sellars.
The terms are undisclosed.
Scotts Holt & Sellars is a two-partner Bromsgrove firm which can trace its roots back nearly 130 years. It provides a variety of family, matrimonial, probate and property legal services.
The firm employs ten people who following the completion of the deal have relocated from their offices in the town’s St John Street to mfg’s larger High Street premises.
Suzanne Lee, managing partner at mfg Solicitors, said that the deal adds ‘significantly’ to mfg’s expertise and client base within Bromsgrove.
She said: “To have Scotts Holt & Sellars as part of the mfg family is exciting for us and the acquisition will allow them to offer clients a far greater range of legal advice by drawing on the expertise we have in areas such as commercial, litigation, employment and agricultural law.
“We are already seeing our client base grow as a result of the acquisition and in turn that is helping to pull people into the town – often from outside the area. Our ambition is to maintain that growth and to continue to deliver high-quality legal advice for local people and businesses.”
Alan Morris, senior partner at Scotts Holt & Sellers commented: “We are certain that the merger will bring many benefits for our clients.”
The acquisition comes only six weeks after mfg completed a deal to acquire Ludlow-based family firm Phillips & Co.
mfg Solicitors originally announced its intention to acquire Scotts Holt & Sellars on June 11 this year. As part of the deal the Scotts Holt & Sellars brand will remain.
mfg has 33 partners and employs nearly 130 people across main offices in Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Worcester and Telford.
