Capricorn Blinds relocates to Parkgate scheme

BIRMINGHAM’S Capricorn Blinds is to move into new premises in the recently opened Parkgate retail and leisure scheme in Shirley, Solihull.
The firm, currently based on the Coventry Road in Hay Mills, is moving its showroom from a premises on Coventry Road in Birmingham, to an improved 2,900 sq ft.
The new showroom is set to open on Monday.
Established in 1984, the family business has an in-house manufacturing team in addition to a retail division. While the manufacturing operations will remain in Tyseley, the new showroom will provide more space to display a variety of blinds and curtains.
Tom O’Loughlin, director of Capricorn Blinds, said “Our new showroom at Parkgate represents a new and exciting chapter for the whole company and is an important part of our plans to expand business in the coming years.
“Larger space will allow us to show our customers how bespoke blinds and curtains can be used in modern interior design, while our staff will be on hand to demonstrate their effective applications within a home setting.”
Other businesses to have already opened premises at Parkgate – which is on the Stratford Road – include ASDA, Pizza Express, 99p Stores, Peacocks and Phones4u.
O’Loughlin added: “To be part of the Parkgate development represents a fantastic growth opportunity for us. Being situated in the centre of Shirley and in close proximity to other specialist businesses is a major advantage.
“We expect footfall to be very strong because of the superb retail outlets and parking facilities located at Parkgate.”
