Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market ranked as a top European experience

THE Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham city centre has been voted one of the best yuletide experiences in Europe.

Travel site GoEuro has listed it as one of the ten ‘stunning’ European Christmas markets to leave visitors in good cheer.

It is included alongside markets in Germany itself such as Mittelalterlicher Lichter-Weihnachtsmarkt in Telgte, which is the country’s largest medieval market.

Turning to the Birmingham market GoEuro says: “For those in the UK who still want a continental European experience, get yourself to Birmingham and check out their German Market.

“The traditional Bavarian celebrations have taken such a stronghold this is the largest example of a German market outside of Germany.

“In fact, the market is so popular, it even attracts more visitors than its Dresden or Nuremberg-based counterparts merely 13 years after having been founded.”
