Large Stafford housing scheme under way

HOUSEBUILDER David Wilson Homes Mercia has started work on a new 186 home development on Tixall Road in Stafford called St Mary’s Gate.
The development, which is anticipated to be complete in 2018 and is a joint venture with Bovis Homes, will provide a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles with property sizes of two, three and four bedrooms.
David Wilson Homes received planning permission on the greenfield site in August 2014. The homebuilder is to contribute towards local transport and highways, education, public open spaces and affordable housing.
Steve Barton, senior sales manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We aim to contribute a great deal to the local area through the development of St Mary’s Gate, both in terms of the high-quality homes we are building and the jobs we will be creating.
“We strongly believe that community development is one of the most important aspects of any new housing development and we hope that these financial contributions will go a long way towards improving the lives of people who live in the local area.”
