Forty shades of green for city department store

BIRMINGHAM department store Selfridges celebrated St Patrick’s Day in true style today by bathing its iconic building in the city centre in a distinctive green light.
The striking image made for an unusual sight for shoppers heading to the Bullring and for commuters arriving in the city at Moor Street Station.
A popular date in the city’s calendar, the store embraced the celebration with a range of special Irish-themed offers – many in the food and drink department, including Irish Cream flavoured fudge and a whole host of Guinness inspired products from crisps to the famous stout itself.
Sam Watts, Selfridges’ Birmingham Deputy General Manager said: “Birmingham has a fantastic Irish community and we can’t wait to join in the St. Patrick’s Day festivities by turning our iconic building green.”
