Dairy workers facing the axe as Müller looks to make efficiencies

AS many as 43 jobs could be axed by Müller UK from its diary in Shropshire.
The company is looking to protect the operational efficiency of the Market Drayton site, which employs almost 800 workers.
The company has sent out 30-day consultation notices to staff advising them of the changes and warning them that cutbacks are likely to be implemented.
However, the firm has said it will carry out a review before any decisions are made.
Roger Emery, operations director at Müller Dairy, was reported by the BBC as saying: “We operate in a very competitive environment and it is important that our structure reflects the current and future needs of the business.”
The diary manufactures many of the company’s well known snacks including Müller Corner and Müller Rice.
