Wolverhampton’s top firms unite for jobs fair

SOME of Wolverhampton’s biggest companies are to take part in a new jobs fair to highlight their vacancies.
Hundreds of jobs, training and volunteering opportunities will be on offer at the event, which has been organised as part of Wolverhampton Business Week.
More than 40 employers from across Wolverhampton will be participating in order to showcase the career opportunities available to city jobseekers.
Companies participating include Aldi, Thompson AVC, Carillion, UTC Aerospace, Ladder for the Black Country, GTG/Arnold Clark, Syncreon Automotive, Sevacare, Pertemps, Angel Springs and Transline.
Roles include warehousing/logistics jobs, including warehouse associates, team leaders and shift supervisors.
There will also be a Military Village in operation showcasing the varied careers and opportunities – both full-time and reservist – in the Armed Forces, such as logistics, infantry, drivers and chefs.
Cllr John Reynolds, Wolverhampton City Council’s cabinet member for City Economy, said: “We have an ambitious long-term plan to encourage enterprise, empower people, reinvigorate our city and improve the prosperity of businesses and residents – and this event supports that.
“This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for work, a change of career or thinking of taking up training or education courses.”
The event takes place in the WV1 Suite at Molineux Stadium on Friday October 2 from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The event is open to all and booking is not required.
It is being organised as part of Wolverhampton Business Week, which offers a programme of events aimed at businesses of all types and sizes and takes place between September 28 and October 2.
