Coventry manufacturer secures new export order

A COVENTRY manufacturer has expanded its network of exporting countries by securing a new contract in Scandinavia.

Safetyflex Barriers manufactures safety barriers which prevent vehicles from being able to crash into buildings – either deliberately or by accident.

It exports the barriers to many countries around the globe and it has now been specially commissioned to design and manufacture a new product to protect high-profile infrastructure in Norway.

The ‘Tank-stopper bollard’ has been manufactured using Safetyflex’s innovative Design technology and is to be used at multiple sites in the country.

Marcus Gerrard, director at Safetyflex, said being approached by an international client to produce the new product was testament to Safetyflex’s growing reputation.

“We are the only company in the world who could provide this specialist product,” he said.

“Our client commissioned us to design a new type off bollard which could withstand a vehicle terrorist attack, so we developed the tank-stopper using the same spring technology used in our truck-stopper bollards.

“Safetyflex’s reputation as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of anti-terrorist security products is continuing to grow.”

Safetyflex has also won orders to supply countries in South America and North America.
