Adam Daniels, North Midlands & Yorkshire Divisional Chair, Vistry Group

Hear from Adam Daniels, Divisional Chair of Vistry Group’s North Midlands & Yorkshire, as he leads the 600-strong region in delivering major, transformative projects.

As Britain’s largest housebuilder, Vistry Group has recently acquired part of the historic former MG Rover site in Longbridge, with plans to develop up to 695 new homes.

Once Europe’s largest car manufacturing facility, the Longbridge site employed over 25,000 people across 468 acres. After a series of ownership changes, the MG Rover Group went into administration in 2005, leaving over 6,000 workers unemployed and many pension plans dissolved. That same year, St Modwen took over the site, initiating its revitalisation.

Vistry is also at the helm of a £196.5m redevelopment of Birmingham’s former City Hospital site, with outline planning approval for 750 homes. This project comes as services from City Hospital transitioned to the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Autumn 2024, leaving much of the old site ready for regeneration. Appointed by Homes England, Vistry is leading this transformative project to bring new life to the area.

With oversight of five regions—North West Midlands, North East Midlands, North Central Midlands, East Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire—Adam Daniels manages a team of more than 600 staff. Having recently completed his first six months as Divisional Chair, Adam is focused on long-term business growth, profitability, and enhancing customer satisfaction through streamlined processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Adam’s background in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management laid the foundation for a diverse career in housebuilding. After joining the industry in 2009 with Bloor Homes, he expanded his expertise with Galliford Try Partnerships, where he gained insights into the partnership model, and later at Countryside Partnerships, where he helped establish the West Midlands division.

Over the years, Adam rose to the role of Managing Director in the West Midlands, followed by Divisional Managing Director, overseeing operations across the East Midlands, West Midlands, and South West. During this time, he successfully led the regions through Countryside’s year-end, contributing over £50m in EBITDA profit.

Following Countryside’s acquisition by Vistry Group in late 2023, Adam transitioned to his current role as Divisional Chair. Today, he brings his extensive commercial expertise to partnerships with local authorities, registered affordable housing providers, private rental funders, and community stakeholders, delivering high-quality living environments across North Midlands and Yorkshire.
