FTSE tipped to open little changed on a day short on news

PRE-OPEN REPORT: Headline shares are tipped to open with little changed today, according to financial websites, and not much news to give direction following the pattern set in America last night and Asia this morning.

In the US, the Dow rose 18 points at 11,429, the Nasdaq Composite lost 13 points at 2,625 and the S&P500 was flat at 1,240.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was last up seven points at 10,301, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 19 points at 23,337.

Crude oil traded at £55.60 a barrel on Nymex and gold settled at £885.10 an ounce.

In the corporate diary today, interim results are due from Betfair Group, Carpetright, European Nickel, Imagination Technologies Group, Private & Commercial Finance Group and Scott Wilson.

Final results are scheduled from 2 ergo Group, Domino Printing Sciences, Infrastrata, Interbulk Group, Renovo Group and RWS Holdings.

Trading statements are expected from Domino Printing Sciences, Drax Group, Go-Ahead and Travis Perkins.

Artilium, Discover Leisure, JPMorgan Chinese Inv Trust, Keystone Inv Trust and RSM Tenon Group are among those hosting their AGMs.
