Inviron snapped up by Dutch firm

TECHNICAL maintenance and management company Inviron has been bought by a Dutch conglomerate for an undisclosed sum.

Clearwater Corporate Finance advised on the deal in which Dutch-based technical services provider Imtech acquired Solihull-based Inviron for an undisclosed sum.

Imtech is a €4.5billion turnover group operating in the fields of mechanical, electrical and ICT services across a number of sectors including building services, industrial, power generation, water and transport.

Before the sale, Inviron was one of the largest employee-owned service providers of its kind in the UK, following the buy-out of the UK facilities management and building services arm of ABB in 2003.

The £130m turnover company is headquartered in Solihul and has 10 regional offices across the UK including London, Glasgow, Manchester, Derby, Ipswich and Washington. It has more 1,100 permanent employees, but uses up to 1,000 sub contractors at peak times.

Paul Jones, support services partner at Clearwater said: “Imtech has a clearly defined strategy of developing its capabilities in the provision of technical services within the UK and the acquisition of Inviron represents a key step in achieving this.

“We are delighted to have identified, introduced and advised on this acquisition for Imtech and the deal is a prime example of the advisory role that Clearwater offers to its multi-national clients”.

Clearwater was originally introduced to Imtech through its IMAP partner in Belgium.
