LaSer UK shines at award ceremonies
CREDIT services group LaSer UK has received a major boost to its business with a national award. The Solihull firm beat off competition from the likes of American Express, MBNA and Santander to win Best CRM Programme at the Cards & Payments Awards. LaSer, which provides credit and loyalty services, was recognised for its VIP customer campaign for retailer M&Co. The company, which has doubled in size since 2008, has also been highly commended in the Midlands Excellence Awards for its electronic finance facility, e@sicredit, while it was also a finalist in the Learning & Development category of the same awards. Stephen Hunt, chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be recognised in this way and it shows how far we have come as a company in recent years. These awards, recognising every part of our business from HR and product development to loyalty and marketing, are a very well deserved reward for everybody involved.”
Roots founder shortlised for start-up award
KIDDERMINSTER businesswoman Jan Golding, of Roots HR Community Interest Company, has been nominated for the Social Enterprise Awards. The human resources and people management company has been shortlisted as Start-Up of the Year in the England heat. Roots HR is the UK’s first and only greater-than-profit human resources consultancy, delivering services to charities, voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises and third sector organisations. Ms Golding said: “Since setting up the business in 2009, I’ve always believed in the value of helping the sector flourish by helping organisations to nurture their most valuable asset, their people. It’s fantastic to be nominated for this prestigious award and see our efforts to serve the third sector recognised on a national scale.” The winners will be announced later in the year.
Conference Aston serves up a treat at awards
CONFERENCE Aston conference centre has been recognised with a trio of honours at the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards. The venue picked up silver for best academic venue and bronze for both best UK management training centre and best conference and banqueting staff. Fiona Foster, director of Conference Aston, said the awards, held at the Park Plaza Hotel in London, were significant because they were voted for by customers. “It’s a fantastic compliment to the Conference Aston team that we have received these awards which are voted for by the people who use our venues for everything from conferences to weddings. In the last year we have invested in all areas of the business from the refurbishment of the building to staff quality training and I believe we have enhanced the service we offer to all our customers,” she said.
