Global Freight revs up for superbike sponsorship

A SHROPSHIRE shipping firm is promoting itself on the world stage after agreeing a motorsport sponsorship deal.
Global Freight is backing the MSS Kawasaki team in this year’s British Superbikes (BSB) series.
The Global Freight branding will be on both of the team’s all-new Kawasaki ZX-10R superbikes each time they take to the track, in what is considered to be the most competitive national motorcycle racing championship in the world.
BSB is watched by more than eight million people on television in the UK alone, with a massive following around the world.
Global Freight managing director Nicole Howarth said: “We saw this as a great opportunity for Global Freight to put its brand in front of a huge audience and make connections with potential customers in the motorsports world.
“BSB gets 250 hours of UK television coverage a year alone, as well as being broadcast on networks around the world. Added to that is tremendous exposure in international print and online media, reaching hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people directly.
“For an international business such as ours, that has a potentially huge benefit.”
MSS Kawasaki has signed top riders Stuart Easton and Gary Mason and it is thought to be a promising season for the team.
As well as featuring on the bellypans of the racing bikes, Telford-based Global Freight’s branding will appear on the race trucks, team website and press releases, pit garage hoardings and the team hospitality unit.
Global Freight, which last year scooped the 2010 Shropshire Small Business of the Year Award, unveiled the new MSS Kawasaki sponsorship deal at the recent Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Expo event.
