Property Appointments: Barberry, Nock Deighton, Colliers, CALA

STOURBRIDGE-based Barberry Developments has kept it in the family once again with its latest appointment of a development surveyor.

Alex Watson joins his father Paul at the firm, which he formed with business partner Jon Bellfield in 1990.

It means there are now two ‘dads and lads’ combinations at Barberry as Mr Bellfield’s son Henry is a director at the Belbroughton company.

Mr Watson, 27, joins Barberry from GBR Phoenix Beard’s investment team where he acted for a range of private individuals, property companies and funds including Aberdeen Asset Management, REI and Stoford.

He has also previously worked in the residential development and retail agency teams at real estate advisors DTZ after studying real estate at Birmingham City University.

“I am of course delighted to be joining Barberry at what is a very exciting time for the company with several important development projects at the embryonic stages,” he said.

“There has been a significant increase in development activity at Barberry and I am looking forward to being involved in many key projects.”
