Media Circus brings tech heaven to Fazeley Studio

CUTTING edge digital technologies and products are to be showcased at an exhibition in Birmingham targeting creative and digital businesses in the city.
‘Media Circus 2’ builds on a previous event but has been expanded following support from Marketing Birmingham. Highlights will include an interactive floor, augmented reality, giant multi-touch screens and glasses-free 3D TV.
It is also intended to foster collaboration between digital and creative companies and university graduates to create new digital concepts and business ideas.
The exhibition will be free to attend and is held from 6-8 June at Fazeley Studios in Digbeth.
Fazeley Studios manager Danny Fisher said: “The idea is to showcase the wealth of talent in the city, through new concepts and ideas. The project provides a platform to showcase some of the city’s finest work.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and brainstorm ideas for future digital and creative technologies at the event, with an online platform being available throughout the development stage over the summer.
In October the results of the project will be exhibited and demonstrated, culminating in a Media Circus Awards, rewarding the most innovative, commercial and artistic collaborations.
Karl Binder, MD of Adhere Creative founded the event. He said: “The best way to do things can often be to build on what is already there – utilising old engineering with new technology. One person or one company cannot always come up with these ideas, so that is why this project came about.”
Neil Rami, chief executive of Marketing Birmingham, said: “The ‘Media Circus’ project is an innovative initiative that involves the local community in something that could help shape the future of digital technology.”
