Pair step up at Nicklins

Halesowen accountants Nicklin has announced that partners Joanne Baldwin and Mark Howell have now become full equity partners in the practice. Ms Baldwin joined Nicklins in 2005 having previously worked at a top 10 accountancy firm. She is responsible for audit compliance matters, with particular experience in the SME sector and in specialist areas such as pension schemes, charities and registered social landlords. Mr Howell joined Nicklins in 2006 and has responsibility for ensuring that its non-audit work complies with accounting and Companies Act standards. He also has particular expertise in assisting business start-ups. Managing partner Harvey Owen said: “I am delighted that Mark and Joanne have now become full equity partners in the practice. Both arrived at Nicklins with a wealth of experience under their belts and have proved themselves to be real assets to the firm. By becoming full equity partners they offer continuity for the future development of the practice.”

Winter to head up BHSF sales team

Jim Winter has been appointed head of field sales at Birmingham-based health insurer BHSF. He has been with BHSF for two years after working at AIG as national sales manager, national accounts manager and heading up their business-to-business division. He lives with his wife and two children in Bishops Stortford. Brian Hall, BHSF sales and marketing director, said: “Jim has made a big impact at BHSF in his time with us, and we are looking forward to his new role enabling him to contribute to a wider range of business issues.”

Donaldson joins BTG forensic team

BTG Global Risk Partners, part of the Begbies Traynor Group, has appointed Andrew Donaldson as forensic accounting director in the firm’s Birmingham office. Mr Donaldson joins from RSM Tenon, where he specialised in forensic accounting services. He began his career with KPMG in 1985, where he remained for 12 years, the last five of which were as part of the forensic accounting team. He then switched roles to become finance director of a business specialising in mortgage fraud investigations before joining an engineering group in a similar capacity. John Kelly, regional managing partner at Begbies Traynor in Birmingham, said:  “We introduced forensic accounting as part of our local service offering 18 months ago as a natural extension of our corporate recovery operations.  We are especially pleased to have secured Andrew who has significant forensic accounting experience in both criminal and civil cases.”
