Sir Peter Rigby expands his hotel group with Worcestershire acquisition

LEADING Midlands entrepreneur and Coventry Airport owner Sir Peter Rigby has acquired a well-known Worcestershire hotel in an undisclosed deal.

The deal, which is due to complete on July 13, will see Sir Peter add Brockencote Hall in Chaddesley Corbett to his Eden Hotel Collection group, which includes Mallory Court in Leamington Spa, the Kings Hotel in Chipping Campden and the Arden Hotel in Stratford upon Avon.

Brockencote owners Joseph and Alison Petitjean have decided to sell up after running the hotel for the past 26 years.

Mr Petitjean said: “Twenty six years is a long time and so we have decided to step back and take on something a little more manageable.

“The hotel is in need of a little refurbishment and I think it’s time someone looked at it with a fresh pair of eyes to add fresh impetus.”

He said he and his wife had been contemplating selling up for a few years and had made it known discreetly they might be open to an offer.

“Brockencote has always been one of Sir Peter’s favourites and I know he has enjoyed coming here. I think the hall will fit very nicely with the other hotels in his group,” he added.

The Eden Hotel Collection has declined to comment on the deal.
