Amazon to create 900 jobs at Rugeley base

ONLINE retailer Amazon has announced plans to open a new distribution centre in south Staffordshire creating up to 900 jobs.
The American retail giant said the centre would be up and running by September.
The announcement comes just a few days after it signed a deal on the speculatively developed 700,000 sq ft Flair building on G.Park Rugeley.
Near the town’s power station, it is housed on a 40-acre site next to the A513 with Amazon believed to have signed a 15-year deal.
Arthur Valdez, vice-president of operations at Amazon.co.uk, said: “The centre at Rugeley will play an important role in fulfilling orders for customers in the UK, Europe and all over the world.
“We have a busy Christmas coming up and look forward to assembling a team of talented people who will play their part in ensuring that customers receive the millions of items that will be ordered over the festive season.”
