The Lawyer publisher to sell its Bromsgrove operations

Publishing group Centaur Media is looking to sell its Bromsgrove-based Home Interest division to concentrate on its digitally-focused business-to-business titles.
Home Interest attracts half of its £12.9m annual revenues from exhibitions and is aimed at consumers.
The portfolio for sale has three key brands – Homebuilding & Renovating, Period Living and Real Homes – and includes seven exhibitions.
Andria Vidler, chief executive of Centaur, believes the business is “now strongly positioned to realise its full potential with a new owner”. It generated proforma EBITDA – a measure of profitability – of £4.9m in 2016.
She said: “We believe that Centaur’s long term future as a focused B2B media group will generate better returns for shareholders. Therefore we are exploring the sale of Home Interest, which under Centaur’s ownership, has been transformed into a profitable and growing asset.”
Centaur’s other divisions are Marketing, Financial, Legal, HR, Engineering and New Markets and its titles include The Lawyer, Marketing Week and econsultancy.
