Heavy delays on M6 southbound

9.30am update: The incident has now cleared.

7.40am:

There are delays of at least 40 minutes on the M6 southbound between junctions 11 and 10 after a collision between a tanker and a HGV.

There was spillage on the motorway, which police closed in order to clean up.

At 7.40am, one lane remained closed, but there was heavy congestion causing long delays. Highways England estimate traffic will only return to normal at around 9.30am.
