Communications group buys IT support firm

Business communications provider Arden Group has acquired Birmingham-based IT support specialist Computerworld Business Solutions (CBS) for an undisclosed sum.

Arden Group, an £8m-turnover business based in Coventry, will add CBS’s 20 staff to its own workforce of 50 people.

“The acquisition of CBS represents an important milestone in our growth strategy,” said Nigel Walker, managing director at Arden Group.

“As a well-established and successful business, CBS gives us the chance to boost our service offering for customers, to deliver a fully converged IT and telecoms solution.
With the combined strength of the two companies, our in-house resource, knowledge, and capability, we are confident that this partnership will enable us to play a more defining role in the growth of our shared customer base.”

The deal will add to Arden Group’s existing managed service offering. Over time, CBS will be brought under the Arden Group brand.
