Digital agency eyes US expansion after strong UK growth

Sixth Story

A Birmingham digital agency has announced an aggressive recruitment drive ahead of a potential expansion in to the United States.

Jewellery Quarter-based Sixth Story plans a 30% growth in its workforce in the coming months, which could grow to 60% by the end of the year.

The agency said the expansion was necessary following strong growth during the year with new business being secured from a diverse client base, including Elliott Construction, independent restaurant chain The Smoke Haus and high street retailer, Primark.

Sian Lenegan, who founded the agency in 2009, said the expansion was being driven not solely due to new clients but also the need to strengthen the firm’s service offerings.

“We’re currently focusing on a new consultancy service which will help the brands we work with to add more value and create more ‘wow’ for their clients,” she said.

“This is an area I’m particularly excited about and I’ve recently been out to the US to pitch this to some potential clients there.  Indeed, to support these opportunities, we are seriously weighing up options for a satellite office in the United States in the coming year.

“We’re also considering investing in a bespoke studio base for the existing team here in Birmingham.”

The agency has year on year growth of 50% and is aiming to see this continue during 2017.
