Resorts World Birmingham

A new family-friendly gaming zone is set to be the latest attraction at the Resorts World Birmingham complex, next to the NEC.

Genting Solihull Ltd, which owns the £150m venue, has submitted a planning application with Solihull Borough Council to open a Family Entertainment Centre, which would be split across two levels of the building.

The main centre will be called Vortex Gaming and be located on the first floor of the building facing out onto Pendigo Lake. A second, smaller site, which will be known as Pixel by Vortex, will be located on the lower ground floor of  the building adjacent to TGI Friday’s and Pizza Express.

Vortex Pixel will be filled with games suited to children up to the age of 12.

The larger centre, Vortex Gaming, will feature leading gaming brands such as Namco and Sega. It will offer the latest in technology and innovation for experiential gaming. Many will be available in the UK for the first time. Many of the highly popular classic games will also feature at Vortex Gaming.

Subject to planning approval Vortex Gaming will open later in the year.
