Southern acquisition for Sutton security firm

CONTRACT Fire and Security, the Sutton Coldfield-based provider of fire, safety and security systems, has made its fourth acquisition in two years.
This latest undisclosed deal sees the firm buy out the southern branch only of Oxfordshire company Chris Lewis Fire and Security.
The Southampton-based operation, which has a turnover of £3m and 25 staff, will increase Contract Fire and Security’s presence in the south of England.
It joins the group’s other offices in East Kilbride, London and Surrey alongside the Sutton Coldfield HQ.
The firm was established by brothers Steven and Gary Quirke in 1985, who will be joined by a third director from the Hampshire operation, and it now expects to report a turnover of £25m for this year.
The growth is part of a strategy to develop the business across the UK and increase the intensity of contracts for its 300-strong team, which includes 200 engineers.
Steven Quirke said: “By increasing the number of contracts across the whole of the UK, our engineers are travelling less and able to spend more time servicing customers.
“The acquisition of the southern branch of Chris Lewis Fire and Safety will include 1,500 regional contracts in the south of England, such as National Oceanographic Centre, University of Southampton, Ordnance Survey Centre and Hampshire County Council.”
