Millennium Point launches new conferencing facilities

Connect at Millennium Point

Birmingham’s Millennium Point has launched its new event and meeting offering, CONNECT.

The purpose-built facility is the latest addition to the building’s facilities and features a number of options which it hopes will attract events such as training, networking, launches, banqueting and workshops.

The facility is entering a tough market, with other facilities, notably Conference Aston, almost on its doorstep.

CONNECT can accommodate groups of up to 120 across its main event space and three inter-connecting meeting rooms. Event organisers and their guests will benefit from access to audio-visual equipment, wireless presentation capabilities and a range of features including private delegate wi-fi, catering services and colour changing lighting systems.

Millennium Point, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary, is home to a number of science, technology and engineering focussed tenants. It is looking to commercialise its offer by fully utilising the public spaces it has available.

The launch of CONNECT is part of a £1m investment programme to enhance the building for both existing and new tenants and exploit its position within the city’s burgeoning Knowledge Quarter.

Judith Armstrong, Chief Executive of Millennium Point, said: “The idea to create a purpose built space within the Millennium Point development was really powered by Birmingham’s revitalised position as one of the UK’s most dynamic cities.

“With so much construction, shifting of the city core towards the East and us being located directly opposite where the HS2 link will deliver passengers into the city, we wanted to ensure we could offer dedicated space not only for offices and learning but also for meetings, events and exhibitions.”
