Indian restaurant launch set to spice up city centre

Indian restaurant Tamatanga is set to open in Birmingham city centre next month following the success of their Nottingham branch.

The restaurant, which prides itself on creating hearty, home-style Indian food, are due to open on Navigation Street, just a stone’s throw away from Grand Central, in September.

The restaurant will see a revamp of the tamatanga brand, which has been operating in Nottingham for almost nine years.

Operations director, Rahul Khurana, said: “We’re hugely excited to bring tamatanga to Birmingham in September. This is the perfect place for us. It’s buzzing and pulsing with life and aspiration. We like to do things differently, let’s just say we’re not your average Indian.

“We feel that we’re the perfect addition to the local food and drink scene, catering to the appetite and passion of those around us and further out, too.”

The restaurant isn’t all about the food either. It is set to boast a bar area that will feature its own seating for those who are just after a drink. The bar will have a vast array of gins, craft beers and creative cocktails, wines, lassis and soft drinks to enjoy.

Tamatanga will also offer a breakfast menu from 7.30am on weekdays and a brunch menu will run from 10am with a bottomless boozy option.

Children and families are also welcome and baby changing facilities, highchairs, balloons, crayons and colouring are all provided alongside a kids’ menu.
