Biscuit maker Phoenix Brands is investing £1.5m as it relocates its growing business to Wolverhampton.

The food manufacturer is moving its 30 staff from Bilston to a 30,000 sq ft unit at Monmore Park Industrial Estate. It also expects to create 10 jobs in the near future.

“We are passionate about how we make biscuits and pride ourselves in being able to offer a hands-on approach when helping a customer develop their new lines,” said Andy Richards, director at Phoenix Brands.

“We will be moving to new larger premises in Wolverhampton by the end of this year which will benefit our expanding customer base which has grown steadily.

“The new site will allow us to deliver more in terms of an improved production and working environment and greater production flexibility. We needed to have everyone under one roof.

The company, which will mark 20 years in business next year, will be installing a £1m-plus production line to expand its capacity.

Richards added: “We are investing in a new, purpose built baking and processing line bristling with all the latest technology.

“This will allow us to continue to increase production, develop new products and improve service to our customers.”

Phoenix Brands will join West Midlands Ambulance at Monmore Park, which now has 12,000 sq ft vacant.

Edward Jenkinson, agency surveyor at Bulleys, who advised on the deal, said: “Phoenix Brands is a well-respected business in the food products industry.

“It has outgrown its current site and we are very pleased to have attracted it to Monmore Park, enabling it to meet its specific requirements.”
