Flavour Fortnight set to celebrate Birmingham’s booming dining scene

The first city-wide celebration of Birmingham’s booming dining scene is set to take place next month.
Flavour Fortnight will celebrate a whole host of establishments across the city centre, which is home to Michelin-starred chefs and a range of award-winning independent bars and restaurants. From Cantonese and fine dining to French and South American cuisines, the event is set to cover all bases for foodies in the city.
Taking place from September 1-17, diners heading to restaurants in the city centre can take advantage of a wide range of special menus, discounts and extras in dozens of popular venues.
The event has been arranged by Retail BID, Colmore BID and Westside BID, the three Business Improvement Districts for the city centre.
More than 30 restaurants have signed up to take part in Flavour Fortnight, with more venues to be announced.
Venues taking part include The Old Joint Stock, which sits opposite Birmingham Cathedral, and business district newcomer Gusto, which is offering exclusive discounts on their lunch menu.
Newly opened Buffalo and Rye is also taking place in the event, as well as Tom’s Kitchen at The Mailbox, Jojolapa, All Bar One on Newhall Street and on Brindleyplace, Siamais, Harvey Nichols, Hotel Du Vin and Zen Metro.
Foodies can also expect to enjoy discounts and offers at Purnell’s, The Alchemist, Byron Hamburgers, and Sun on the Hill.
