Guttering firm pipes up growth with new unit

Pensnett Estate, Kingswinford

A gutter replacement specialist has expanded into new premises to cope with expansion.

Thaxen Developments, which specialises in replacing concrete guttering with uPVC, has opened another unit at its base on the Pensnett Estate in Kingswinford. It already operates from two units on LCP’s flagship business estate.

Lucy Hurst, managing director of the company, said: “The company is growing very quickly and in just two years we have gone from three members of staff to more than 30 and at the end of our second year, recorded a turnover of £3m.”

The firm, which has concentrated on a niche market, focuses on post-war housing with concrete-made gutters. It takes on work across the country so needs a centrally-located base.

“We’ve moved from having just a small office on The Pensnett Estate to now having three units. We were keen to stay on the estate because it is centrally located and is convenient for our staff, so were very pleased when LCP found this additional unit for us because it means we can continue to expand,” she added.

Paula James, industrial lettings manager at LCP, said: “It’s great that a local company is growing and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to accommodate Thaxen Developments as it continues with its expansion plans.”
