Housebuilder gets its Mr Wright

Mark Wright, CALA Homes

Housebuilder CALA Homes has appointed a new managing director of its Midlands region.

Mark Wright has been tasked with driving forward ambitious growth plans for the business.

Previously regional managing director of McCarthy & Stone, Mr Wright is well-established in the housebuilding industry with a breadth of experience across various operational roles. Before joining McCarthy & Stone, he held managing director roles at a number of regions within the Barratt Developments group.

In his new role at CALA, he will be responsible for supervising a team of more than 120 staff and 10 developments across the region. Under his management, over 300 homes are set to be delivered this financial year.

Mr Wright will also be responsible for overseeing land acquisition for the region, with CALA planning to invest in a number of new sites before June 2018.

The housebuilder has been particularly active in the land market in recent months with a number of key new sites contracted including those in Cheltenham, Milton Keynes, Leigh Sinton, Shipston on Stour and Banbury.

Mr Wright said: “Throughout my career I have remained firmly focussed on delivering quality build, exceptional results and exceeding customer expectations; beliefs which align perfectly with the CALA Homes brand. This is a really exciting time for the business as we stretch our operational boundaries into new areas including Milton Keynes and Cheltenham.

“I will be responsible for overseeing this period of growth over the next five years, consolidating what has come before to grow the business in line with the group’s aspirations for the region.”
